Cafe Attendant - 32181We are currently looking for a Full Time Cafe Attendant to join our Cultural Center Cafe team located at the Chickasaw Cultural Center.Summary: Performs a wide range of food related services to ensure an efficient and professional café operation. Supports program mission to serve appetizing and nutrient dense foods using proper food handling techniques.Responsibilities:Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiencyCompletes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunitiesWorks in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all typesMaintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environmentMaintains and promotes professionalismPunctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metricsAdheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standardsMaintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned areaAssists in preparation of orders for food and food service products for cost effectiveness and efficiency of operationMaintains proper sanitation and safety practicesEnsures cleanliness, maintenance, safety and sanitation of kitchen and or other assigned areas and reports all necessary problems immediatelyWorks with Catering Team to execute catering needsAbility to prepare food for service including but not limited to chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, cutting fruit, preparing meats and stocking inventory appropriatelyOperates point-of-sale terminal to tally customer purchases and ensure accurate payment is receivedProvides accurate change for cash purchasesProcesses discounts, refunds, exchanges, coupons accuratelyBalances register/terminal and completes reports for receipts, cash balanceMay perform minor trouble shooting of POSMaintains accurate cash count and assume responsibility for any shortages at end of shiftMay be responsible to confirm POS pricing updatesStocks inventory several times during shift by placing products on display shelf for customer availabilityPerforms all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Able to follow instructions, both written and oralEnsures complianceAble to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirementsAbility to work independentlyHonesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountabilityApplies judgment to ensure monies are secureAble to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelinesUnderstand, utilize and apply cash handling knowledgeKnowledge of the methods and practices used in food preparation, serving and storageFiling skillsAbility to plan, organize and follow through on assignmentsAble to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and managementSkills:Count lrg amts of cash by hand / with cash counting machinesMust be able to operate various kitchen equipmentOperate point-of-sale terminalExperience:No prior experience requiredEducation:High School, GED or EquivalentCredentials:Pass general background checkStandard Driver's LicenseServSafe CertificationWorking Conditions:Customer serviceFood serviceWorks in a kitchen environmentOrganizedStructuredTeam-orientedVarious kitchen equipmentPoint-of-sale equipmentSubject to kitchen hazards such as burns, knives, slippery floors etc.Communications written, verbalCommunication with groupsIntent to sell, increase sales, excellent serviceEffective work relationships inside and outside organizationInteracts with clinical, support, technical, professional or management staff in a variety of settings and situationsPass pre-employment drug testSometimes bend, kneel, stoop, push, reachHand-eye coordination, reach and graspManual dexteritySometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbsLight to non-strenuous workAble to smell and distinguish food flavor qualityStanding up to 75% of shiftAble to taste and distinguish food flavor qualityVisual acuity for detail, distance, color, depth perceptionMay work day shiftTraining:It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
