LHH is partnering with a growing organization in the Phoenix area is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting department. This is a hands-on role overseeing the full accounting function within a multi-entity, multi-location environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, compliance, and financial reporting.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Oversee consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage ASC 842 lease accounting, including related assets, liabilities, and disclosures.
• Lead the annual external audit and coordinate with independent auditors.
• Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
• Support acquisitions, integrations, system initiatives, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior leadership experience with oversight of a full accounting department.
• Strong ASC 842 lease accounting experience.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and full-cycle accounting operations.
• Confident, hands-on leadership style with the ability to adapt quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or MBA.
• Experience in a high-growth, multi-location, or operationally complex organization.
• M&A, post-acquisition integration, or financial system implementation experience.
