Multifamily Agency Originator – Multifamily Agency LendingZions Capital Markets is advancing a best-in-class multifamily lending platform as a bank-sponsored dual GSE license holder with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Supported by the strength, relationships, and regional footprint of Zions Bancorporation, the platform delivers a comprehensive range of multifamily financing solutions across agency programs and CMBS executions, with a focus on scalable, client-driven lending strategiesTeam OverviewThe Origination team is responsible for driving loan production, developing strategic client relationships, and delivering tailored financing solutions across multiple execution channels. The platform emphasizes a relationship-driven approach, disciplined credit standards, and seamless coordination across underwriting, capital markets, and servicing.Role SummaryThis role is designed for an experienced originator with a demonstrated ability to generate consistent deal flow, structure complex transactions, and maintain long-term client relationships. The position is primarily focused on individual production, with close collaboration across the broader bank and capital markets platform.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & OriginationSource and close new multifamily lending opportunities for agency executionLeverage existing relationships while actively cultivating new connections with owners, developers, brokers, and financial intermediariesPartner with commercial banking teams to drive cross-platform referrals and deepen enterprise client engagementMaintain an active pipeline of opportunities and manage transactions through closingStructuring & Client AdvisoryLead borrower discussions to design and negotiate financing solutions that align with client objectives and program requirementsStructure transactions across multiple capital sources, selecting the optimal execution strategy based on market conditions and asset profileCommunicate complex financing alternatives in a clear, actionable manner to clients and stakeholdersMarket & Product ExpertiseMaintain deep knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and broader capital markets offeringsStay current on program updates, pricing dynamics, and competitive trends to inform transaction structuring and client adviceRisk & Compliance AlignmentEnsure all transactions adhere to internal credit standards, regulatory expectations, and agency requirementsIdentify potential risks early in the process and work collaboratively to mitigate or appropriately escalate issuesMaintain a disciplined approach to documentation, controls, and audit readinessPlatform CollaborationWork closely with Underwriting, Capital Markets, Closing, and Servicing teams to ensure efficient and consistent executionContribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performanceSupport broader strategic initiatives as the platform continues to scaleQualificationsBachelor’s degree required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)7+ years of commercial real estate lending or mortgage banking experience, with a strong focus on originationsProven track record of successfully sourcing and closing transactions within multifamily or related asset classesExperience with agency lending and other institutional capital sources strongly preferredCore CompetenciesDemonstrated ability to generate business and maintain long-term client relationshipsStrong transaction structuring skills across multiple lending platforms and capital sourcesExcellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the ability to present complex concepts with clarity and confidenceSound business judgment and a consistent focus on risk management and execution qualityHigh level of organization and ability to manage an active pipeline in a production-driven environmentCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams and stakeholdersEntrepreneurial approach with a focus on growing production and contributing to platform expansionLocation:This role can be located anywhere in the U.S.Pay Range (Depending upon relatable skills and experience): $125,000 - 225,000Benefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance – START DAY ONE!Life and Disability Insurance, Paid Paternal Leave, and Adoption AssistanceHealth Savings (HSA), Flexible Spending (FSA), and dependent care accountsPaid Training, Paid Time Off (PTO), and 11 Paid Federal Holidays401(k) plan with company match and Profit SharingMental health benefits, including coaching and therapy sessionsTuition Reimbursement for qualifying employeesEmployee Ambassador preferred banking products
